I often talk about slowing down and being present: meditation is an ideal way to do this and to help you reconnect with yourself. While many people falsely believe that mediation is the absence of thought, it actually is about changing your relationship with thought. Rather than being overwhelmed by your thoughts, meditation allows you to remove yourself from those thoughts.

Author and music executive Russell Simmons explains the benefits of meditation perfectly: meditation allows you to “stop making frantic, emotional decisions about who you are and what you want to do with your life and start choosing how you want to live in a controlled, peaceful, and contented manner.”
